What is Ghicha Silk?

Ghicha (also spelled Gicha or Khewa) is drawn from the outer layers or leftover silk cocoons that do not get spun into regular Tussar yarn.

It is less refined but stronger, more textured, and rustic in appearance.

Ghicha silk yarns are usually hand-reeled and woven on handlooms, which makes every saree unique.
